Porty and Gala cadets In Banner Drill Clean Sweep

 

The Dewar Centre in Perth was once again the venue for the Royal British Legion Tri-Service Cadet Colour Bearing Competition. Last year Air Cadets were placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd taking all three medals against stiff competition.

So on the evening of 5th June Air Cadets from across the Region once again arrived in Perth to compete in the 2010 event. Two cadets from Edinburgh & South Scotland Wing were among the competitors in Perth.

 



No Pressure Then!

 

The judges for the event included a representative from the Royal British Legion Scotland, the Station Warrant Officer from RAF Leuchars, a Warrant  Officer 2  from the Scots Guards, and a Chief Petty officer from the Royal Navy - No pressure then!

 

After the Cadets from the ATC, ACF and SCC completed a set piece drill routine it was time for the judges to review their scores and submit them to the adjudicating officer to compare notes

 

Once again all three medals were scooped by Air Cadets!

 Cdt Stewart 1143 (Portobello) Sq  & Sgt Leisk 2180(Galashiels) Sq

 

The Tri -Service Cadet Shield for 2nd Place was awarded to Cdt Michael Stewart, 1143 (Portobello) Squadron.

The Tri -Service Cadet Shield for 3rd Place was awarded to Sgt Oliver Leisk, 2180 (Galashiels) Squadron.

 

 

The Haig of Beymerside Youth Trophy for 1st First Place was awarded to Flt Sgt Morag Campbell, 1296 (Turriff) Squadron – the 2009 Winner.

 

Warrant Officer Trevor Francis RAF, Station Warrant Officer at RAF Leuchars, was a member of the Judging Panel
